"Mariah Carey - Touch My Body"

FINALLY! The Debut Single From Mariah Carey's New Album - E=MC2 - Has Emerged.

Touch My Body is both written & produced by Tricky Stewart & The-Dream, & considering I have been anticipating this for so long, I am a little underwhelmed. To quote the Simpsons - it's all a bit 'Meh' - don't get me wrong, it's catchy, hot, & has that Mariah feel to it, but it just sounds a bit like an album track.

Where was my club-banger? I was expecting someone to be shouting 'Mariah's Back', some hot JD beats & some signature Mariah vocals. For me, Touch My Body hasn't quite delivered the way I was expecting it to, it's very good, but I suppose I was looking for perfection?

I'm Fulfilled!
Mariah is not looking for a #1 1st single like she did in the past! She prepares the ground and then releases the real highlight of the album...

I Agree...i feel that with TEOM she didnt start off with the strongest single, she built up to it! This song is similar, its very catchy after a cpl of listens! Looking fwd to hearing the rest of the album!

Slightly disappointed! It's a good track, but was kinda hoping for a more "aggressive" sound, a club banger, a'la It's Like That. But Dimitrius may be right - whilst It's Like That from TEOM only made it to the Top 20 on Billboard as a first single, We Belong Together spent 14 weeks at no.1.... Cant wait for E=mc2!

I agree with you. The song is respectable, but it's not a knockout. Not really a great choice for a first single. Not much soul.

Yeah... it's good, but definitely not a club banger. I was hoping for something like the new Usher track "Let's Make Love In The Club"

It doesn't sound like a big hit! but it sure gonna hit the charts in few days. Maybe its going to happen like "emancipation". It's Like That was a great song...very catchy, but it didn't make it to the N.1 spot on Billboard. Im sure this album is going to be huge...and everybody would love this single with a lil more plays...touch it!

This was one of those songs that grew on me. I also was slightly dissappointed with the single selection expecting a huge club banger.

But after i got over my dissappointment I started to see the song in a new light. The simple keyboard/piano medley running thru & the catchy hook.

Her team new alot of people were waiting for the track and I think this was a great move. Give a nice tease before they blow us away! I can see this song being her 18th #1 single just because this is her lead single.

it's feel so good and also can't hardly wait to hear the new album from mariah.

touch my body...it's really touchy :) easy listening and yea...she she sing it still with her great voice.

In my country, Indonesia, it's already played in all around radio and its gonna be the hot shoot single in every chart.

VIVA MARIAH....

It is not a club banger? Its more of a radio play it safe Mariah. I love her during her Fantasy days, but now it seems her music sounds the same. I do not think she can be in the rock and roll of fame. Even with number one hits. In the US Billboard but not around the world. And that also based on radio plays.

I'm a fan of Mariah's music, but I'm so use to her romantic love songs so of course when I heard and read the lyrics to this song it just threw me off definitely. "Throw me on the bed, play with me some more" "Let me wrap my legs around your waist" huh? That's not the kind of Mariah I'm used to listening to at all. I'm so disappointed. I have to turn the station when that song comes on.
