Michael Jackson To Make Superbowl Comeack?

Source - UPI

As Always, I Am Not Reporting This As The Truth, This Is A Rumour!

According to the New York Post, the King Of Pop; Michael Jackson, may use this weekends Superbowl as his launchpad to start the Thriller 25 promotion. He is apparently going to have the majority of the half time show to perform various hits from his Thriller set.

This comes as further rumours have emerged about a performance by Jackson at this years Grammy Awards. I think this is more likely to happen over the Superbowl gig, but watch this space & see what happens.

Any Thoughts?

Serena Williams In Monarch Magazine

Source - Concreteloop

OK, It's Not Music Related, But I Thought I Would Post Highly Airbrushed This Pic Of Serena Williams In Monarch Magazine.

She looks very hot & shows off her dominant persona in this shot, I really like the Williams sisters & think it's great that they do not post their private lives to gain publicity. If you want to see the rest of the shots, or read the article, you can find it HERE.

"Day 26 - Got Me Going"

Here Is Some New Material From The Winners Of Making The Band 4, Now Officially Named Day 26.

I'm not so sure about the name, what it is meant to mean, or if they will be around long enough to explain the meaning. Still, this particular track; Got Me Going, is pretty hot, unsurprisingly the tracks making is in the Diddy style production.

Some very nice harmonies invoke the bands obvious vocal abilities well, & the Mario Winans lyrics do make it very catchy.

I suppose I can't expect a mainstream band to come out with anything ground breaking, but I just wanted something a little better than this. Don't get me wrong, I like it, but who's going to remember this track in 10 years time? I thought Diddy was going to make the ultimate R&B group?

"Mary J. Blige - No More Drama" (Live On 1Xtra)

Finishing The Exclusive Live Performances For The BBC's 1Xtra Radio Station; Mary J Blige Performs The Exquisite No More Drama.

They definitely saved the best to last with this one, if you are a fan of Mary you have to see this performance. Mary pours her heart out while she sings the meaningful lyrics, almost breaking into tears by the end.

When she sings it live, this is my favourite Mary track, & I would think it means the most to her as it signifies her strength & determination to battle drug addiction. If this lady wasn't a singer, I'm sure she would be a preacher, she has an unbelievable passion for life.

"Missy Elliott - Shake Your Pom Pom"

Source - The Regulators

Here Is A New Confirmed Track From Missy Elliott's Seventh Studio Album, Tentatively Titled The Countdown.

Shake Your Pom Pom is reported to be the first official single from the new project, & will appear on the Step Up 2 soundtrack. After the huge popularity of Missy's current single; Ching-A-Ling (also from the soundtrack), I'm not surprised that they have decided to put something fresh out.

The track itself is HUGE, it is such a banger, production from Timbaland is absolutely on-point, this team is back in action, at last! I'm totally hyped about the new album, Tim & Missy are one of the greatest Hip-Hop teams in history, & Timbo is my favourite musician, period.

"Janet Jackson - LUV"

Another Track Has Leaked From Janet Jackson's New Album; Discipline.

This one is called LUV & from the offset is an instant club banger, the Darkchild produced track has big, beat focused production & some catchy light vocals from Janet. I'm sure this one will be a single & will do well, it's obvious that Janet is on to a winner with this one.

Still, it's not all good, as with both previously leaked tracks, Janet allows the production to take over the track, this would be a jam without any vocals on it. Or they could have just used it for the new Britney record, there is no difference! I want & hope to see Janet actually performing on some tracks, some characteristic harmonies would not go a miss.

"Janet Jackson - Rock With U"

Here Is A Brand New Track That Has Been Leaked From Janet Jackson's Much Hyped New Album Discipline.

The song is called Rock With U (how many times has that title been used), & is an electronic influenced track that has a futuristic feel to it. I'm afraid it suffers from the same fate as her current single; Feedback, it is only a show of production talent, by Jermaine Dupri.

It shows little vocal talent from Janet, next to no harmonies, simplistic lyrics & not much effort needed really. Still, I'm not saying I hate the song, because the finished article is pretty cool, it's obviously aimed at the Pop-Dance culture of her European fans, but I don't foresee it being a single.

Mariah Carey Update

Superstar Diva Mariah Carey Has Once Again Changed Her Mind About The Debut Single From Her New Album; That Chick.

There were originally rumors that the first track to be lifted from her new record would be Mirage, which seemed like a good choice as it featured serial hit-maker; T-Pain. Then Def-Jam seemed to drop this idea & go for the title track, but have scrapped that in favor of a song called; Touch My Body.

I can totally see why Def-Jam are nervous about getting it right, the first question that will be asked when the album drops will be - 'Is it as good as her last album' - which was near perfection IMO. I never thought I would be excited about getting my hands on the next Mariah album, but I honestly am.

"Mary J. Blige - Come To Me (Peace)" (Live On 1Xtra)

Continuing The Week Of Performances Exclusively Live For The BBC's 1Xtra Radio Station, Here Is Mary. J Blige with A Stunning Rendition Of A New Album Track Called; Come To Me.

Frankly I wasn't impressed by the beginning of the performance, Mary seemed a little lifeless, like she was reading the lyrics from a sheet. But then she exploded with emotion & bought the track to life, this lady can give you goosebumps with a single note.

I'm feeling Mary more than ever, she is a songwriting machine, can hold her own against the best vocalists & can tell a story like no other. She is a living legend.

"Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love" (US Version) (Video)

Here Is The Brand New Video For The US Release Of Leona Lewis' Smash Hit Bleeding Love.

It's not a surprise that Leona's people have chosen to lead the US campaign with this single choice, however I am a little surprised that they felt the need to shoot a new video. Still the video itself is pretty good, a little over dramatised, but cool all the same.

I'm still not convinced by Leona's efforts so far, I do not blame her because she is a fledgling artist, but her team need to realise that for long-term success you need critical acclaim. One single, no matter how successful, does not build a music career, or a great artist. I was sorely let down by Leona's album & I hope she grabs the creative reigns for her next effort!

"Mary J. Blige - Just Fine" (Live On 1Xtra)

All This Week, The Queen Of Hip-Hop Soul; Mary J. Blige, Will Be Performing Live Tracks From Her New Album; Growing Pains. Exclusively On The UK's 1Xtra Radio Station.

I'm locked to this station all day long, it's really the only decent urban radio station in the UK. I heard the performance & interview this morning & thought it was great, so I will be following it all week & showing you the highlights.

Here is her performance of her latest joint; Just Fine. The performance was a Mary standard, high quality vocals & piles of energy. This woman only gets better with time, she looks effortlessly glamorous & sounds fantastic.

On a side note, while listening to the radio today, I was massively surprised to hear Sam of Thatgrapejuice.net reviewing music with other DJ's on 1Xtra. That a real good look so I thought I'd mention it.

Rihanna's New Hair Cut

Not Normally A Fashion Critic, But I Thought I Would Post This Pic Of Rihanna's New Hair Cut, Because I Think It Rocks!

She was photographed at the recent NRJ Awards, where she won the award for best international single for Don't Stop The Music. She turned up looking stunning as usual, her new cut & her dress make her look amazing.

I know Rihanna is not the most talented artist on the scene, & she receives a lot of criticism for it. But I think she is really stylish, she always looks fantastic & is not afraid to rock her own style, this pic will be all over the glossy magazines in the week to come.
