"Alicia Keys & Jack White - Another Way To Die" (Video)

Here Is The Official Music Video For Alicia Keys' & Jack White's Collaboration - Another Way To Die, From The New James Bond Movie - Quantum Of Solace.

As you may remember, I wasn't too impressed with the way this track turned out, & to be honest, my opinion hasn't changed a great deal, I have love for Alicia, & I respect the creativity of Jack White. However, this track just doesn't 'glue' well, it has every element of a good song but it just doesn't work.

The video for Another Way To Die is not really on point either, I like the stylish concept, but the production values are pretty poor, at times, it looks like Miss Keys & Mr White are stuck on the back ground with sticky tape, not exactly realistic. All in all, solid, but ultimately a disappointment.

Here, After A Long Wait, Is The Official Theme Tune To The Soon To Be Released Bond Film - Quantum of Solace. Another Way To Die Is A Random Duet Between Alicia Keys & Jack White, With Random Results.


Firstly, I'm a HUGE A. Keys fan, I have seen her live & she is amazing, I am also a small White Stripes fan, simply because they are 'edgy' & different. However, when these two come together, it just doesn't seem to work, I wanted to love it, but I just can't.

Top marks for effort, it really feels like they wanted to go for the over the top 'Epic' sound, but neither artist seem to pull it off. Jack White seems to have added an element of 'quirkiness' & Alicia storms it vocally, but this is just one pair that shouldn't make music together. I hope I change my mind all the same.

Clocked Today Was A Number Of Celebs At Different Events. There Is So Much On At The Moment Like Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week Formally Known As New York Fashion Week, The Toronto International Film Festival And Just This Past Weekend MTV Video Music Awards.

Brandy Attends The Tracy Reese Spring 2009 Fashion Show During Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week Formally Known As New York Fashion Week.

Also there was actress Sanaa Lathan.

The Hip Hop Violinist Miri Ben-Ari also came out. (Front row, Far right) Don't that dude in the pink look like Chris Tucker?

Actresses Joy Bryant and Zoe Saldana were at the Herve Legar show.

John Legend was seen at the tents in Bryant Park during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with the President of Rock & Republic Andrea Bernholtz.

Also at the tents was Jennifer Lopez.

Melanie Brown a.k.a Mel B was outside The Ivy In Beverly Hills after having lunch with her husband Stephen Belafonte.

The Secret Life Of Bees cast were in Toronto, Canada for the 2008 TIFF Toronto International Film Festival. "Alicia Keys - Superwoman" (Video)

Here Is The Official Video For Alicia Keys' New Single - Superwoman.

Superwoman is one of my favourite tracks from one of my favourite albums of the last 12 months, Alicia is such an amazing talent, this feeling was only enforced when I saw her live at the beginning of the year. I'm sure this will soon become a successful single for her.

The video for the track is also extremely strong, it's a nice, sort of obvious concept, that is delivered extremely well. Alicia brings out her acting side to put forward the emotion of the song I really liked the cameo from Jada Pinkett Smith (Will Smith's Wife).

On a side note, that didn't seem to fit anywhere else, this track was co-written by Linda Perry, who is an amazing songwriter, check her out!

Alicia Keys is never given credit for her fashion sense, when she has bundles of it, here she is with her 'Little Brother', who looks bigger than she is lol. That bandanna-ish piece looks so cool, move over Beyonce.

Here Is The Official Remix To Alicia Keys' New Single - Teenage Love Affair. It Features Veteran Rapper LL Cool J.


Swizz Beatz, who is responsible for the mixing on the track, has actually thought about it well, as it has been mixed with Slick Rick's - Teenage Love. Nice touch. I'm not sure about slowing the tempo that much, or the splits in Alicia's original vocals, still, it works pretty well.

I've never really been a huge fan of LL Cool J, I don't quite understand what he does well? He has never appealed to me as a rapper, & his acting skills are definitely questionable. However, I'm not here to hate, so let's just enjoy the easy listening tracks that he is pumping out at the moment.

R&B Songstress - Alicia Keys Is Continuing The Single Releases From Her Astonishing Album - As I Am.

Teenage Love Affair was named number #23 in Rolling Stone Magazine's '100 Best Songs Of 2007'.The track is about the experience of first love & is an excellent song, with both musical depth & an air of innocence.

The concept for the video runs parallel with that of the song, it is an excellent theme but is executed poorly, it seems very 'hit & miss' with another track from As I Am (I Need You) cutting straight across the video.

Still, the video is ultimately enjoyable, it doesn't take away from a brilliant track & a stunning album, a hot pick of mine,which is still on constant rotation on my iPod.

Alicia Keys Clears Up "Gangta Rap" Comments

Spotted At - Concrete Loop

God Love Alicia Keys! Urban Review Supports Everything She Does, I Have Seen Her In Concert & Her Album Is One Of My Favourite Records Of Last Year.


You can probably understand how shocked I was to hear that she made these comments in Blender Magazine -

"Gangsta rap was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. Gangsta rap didn’t exist."

The feud between rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. was fuelled: "by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing."

It was also revealed that she wears an AK-47 pendant: "to symbolize strength, power and killing ‘em dead"

I was really annoyed by this interview, the 'Gansta Rap' thing is bull ish & the Biggie - Pac comments, while being a bit more sensible, are still a little hard to believe. It amazed me to think that Alicia would believe this sort of thing.

However, she cleared up this miss-interpreted interview with yet another interview on the 'Tom Joyner Morning Show' in the US. Check it below...



That's better, I'm glad to see that Alicia hasn't lost her senses, or her fantastic attitude to life. I was proud that she didn't even attack Blender for their miss-quotations. Still, this will have a definite impact on her career, I am a major fan, but was p*ssed off at her original "Comments", it will take some more explaining to get the message across.

Teenage Love Affair Is Set To Be The Third Single From Alicia Keys' Mini Masterpiece - As I Am.


While not my favourite track from the record, it is a very strong contender & was even named #23 in Rolling Stone's 100 Best Songs Of 2007. It is a pretty solid single choice, although I could think of stronger contenders.

The track itself is brilliantly written & Alicia's vocals are on point, it's an upbeat, up-tempo joint that I think is amazing. However, I'm not so sure it will be a big chart smash, the buying public are pretty fickle when it comes to Alicia, they seem to either love her or hate her.

Alicia Keys - Live In London

Last Night I Was Lucky Enough To Attend A Sold Out, One Night Show Live In London From The Mad Talented Alicia Keys.

After multiple cancellations earlier in the week, due to a bout of Laryngitis, it was in doubt whether the event would go ahead, but it did & Alicia showed almost no signs or effects from being ill. She was vocally on form, had a much better stage presence than I expected & was accompanied by some vocally talented backing singers.


With a very expensive drink in my hand, & the soulful vocals of Alicia being pounded from the speakers, the evening went down without a hitch. She started the show amongst huge cheers with a shortened versions of ; Ghetto Story, Waiting For Your Love, Where Do We Go From Here & You Don't Know My Name.

She continued with the majority of album tracks from her current album; As I Am, including a very crowd pleasing rendition of Superwoman, which is an obvious fan favourite. Then my favourite track from her current album; Wreckless love, which had some real vocal effort put into it. Next she used some previous material including; My Boo, Karma & A Woman's Worth.

Towards the end of the show she performed the now classic track Fallin', with a short burst of the musical inspiration for the song, James Browns' - It's A Man's Man's Man's World. She then proceeded to close the show with her recent smash hit; No One, this was the highlight of the evening, with a showstopping performance which had every one on their feet, joining in with the 'Oh Oh Oh' towards the end of the track.

The evening went far to quickly & I was totally amazed by Alicia's CD quality vocals & solid stage presence, which I really wasn't expecting. Alicia is a real professional, an outright entertainer & a positive talent on a some-what undertalented musical world, she remains one of my favourite R&B singers & I will definitely being checking her out next time she comes to the UK.

Some ranom stuff from the concert included the fact that because of the smoking ban in the UK, everyone had to put their mobile phones in the air instead of lighters. Also, the opening introduction video had Alicia in a church & a preacher warning her about the outside world, he had this one line that told her about those 'Lions, Tigers & Snoop Doggs'. Lol

Alicia Keys Performs At The Superbowl 2008

The Gorgeous Alicia Keys Performed A Medley Of Her Hits At The Recent Superbowl Pre-Show.

Despite the rumours of Michael Jackson making an appearance were predictably false, the show was did see a highlight with Alicia. She was absolutely pitch-perfect, I didn't think her vocal ability could improve any further, but she still manages to amaze me.

I fail to see how people can say that music is not what it used to be & that there is no real talent around, have they never seen Ms Keys? I am lucky enough to be seeing her live when she performs in London in a few weeks, of course I'll be letting you know how that goes.

I like a lot of modern artist & do not want to hate on them, but when you see some one as brilliantly talented as Alicia doing her thing, you start to think to yourself; Rihanna can shove her Umbrella!
