"Chris Brown feat. Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz - I Can Transform Ya"

After Taking A Long Time Off, Chris Brown Releases His Newest Song I Can Transform Ya Off Of His Upcoming Album Graffiti

We all know where Chris Brown has been. There needs to be no discussion of that. Via Twitter, CB said that he was going to release the newest song I Can Transform Ya today instead of tomorrow. The song features Lil Wayne and is produced by Swizz Beatz and will be featured on Graffiti.

I am not going to lie, this isn't really that good. For being gone for such a long time, I thought the newest song would be something a lot better than this. I was expecting something that could kill Jay Sean's Down as the current party song. Lil Wayne's part on the song is kind of legit, but Swizz Beatz is just there. Overall, meh.

Featured Artist : Black Canvas

Just In Time For The Summer, Black Canvas Provides Music Lovers With A Dose Of Smooth Reggae Fused With Hip Hop From Their Album, Rise

Being from Cali, I know a thing or two about what good reggae music is. So when I first heard about a reggae group from Gloucester, I was a little hesitant. Not anymore. Who doesn't enjoy riding around their car in the summer listening to some good reggae music? Well, Black Canvas and their new album Rise deserves to be on everyone's system.

Broken Dreams is just one of the singles of Rise, and it is definitely my favorite song from it. Broken Dreams kind of has the best of both worlds. It can be a song you play while driving around and relaxing with friends, or it can be played at night to groove and dance to. That is the best thing about Black Canvas because they aren't strictly reggae or hip-hop. Instead, they fused different types of genres to create a unique sound that can go anywhere. Definitely get a copy of Rise.

"Black Eyed Peas - Imma Be"

The Latest From The Black Eyed Peas Is Imma Be Off Of Their Newest Album The E.N.D.

The Black Eyed Peas are set to release their newest album The E.N.D. on June 9, 2009, and Imma Be is the latest song from the album. The next single was supposed to be I Gotta Feeling, but this has come out before even though I Gotta Feeling will probably be the next official single.

The hook of Imma Be kind of gets annoying after a while, but it isn't too bad of a song; I like it. The beat is pretty cool and changes up a lot and is similar to Boom Boom Pow. There are some pretty solid lyrics on the song too. As long as the BEP keep up with songs like Boom Boom Pow and Imma Be, The E.N.D. will be very successful.

"Richman - 3OH!3"

Hailing From Colorado, Rap Duo 3OH!3 Not Only Bring An Interesting Name, But Also An Interesting Sound And Style To Richman

I know this picture doesn't show what the guys in 3OH!3 look like, but I thought it was representative of the kind of music they have. 3OH!3 has a strong underground following thanks to their strong party beats and songs that move. I have been playing Richman constantly for the past two weeks when I first heard it.

Richman is off of 3OH!3's album Want, which was released back in 2008. I know the timing on this song is late, but I am hoping to spread the music of 3OH!3 a little more, and I definitely think they are a hot act. Richman is a quintessential party song that belongs at every and any party.

"DJ Earworm - United States of Pop 2008"

DJ Earworm Relseas His Yearly Mashup Of All The Top Songs, United States Of Pop 2008 Chronicles All The Hit Songs Of 2008

So DJ Earworm is a DJ who does these mashups every year of the top 25 songs from the previous year. This year's mashup from 2008 has artists like Lil' Wayne, Chris Brown, Coldplay, and Pink, just to name a few

I really like this mashup a lot and think Earworm did a really good song. I just wish he had switched up the beat a little more like his song last year. He keeps Coldplay's Viva La Vida as the beat for the entire song and layers lyrics on top of that. A little more variety would have really put it over the top, but overall it is a sick song.

"Kid Cudi feat. Kanye West and Common - I Poke Her Face"

Kid Cudi Teams Up With Kanye West And Common For His Latest Song I Poke Her Face, Sampling Lady Gaga's Hit Song, Poker Face

To be honest, I really did not like Lady Gaga's song Poker Face. It really did not make any sense at all, and I just really did not like it at all. A-Trak does a good job of sampling Gaga's song and lays down a solid beat on I Poke Her Face.

Kid Cudi is no where near the same league as Kanye and Common, so he slacks a little in the song. It is tough to tell who has the better verse between Kanye and Common. At first I thought it was Kanye, but after a few listens I couldn't really decide. The song is pretty fun and much better than the original.

"The Dream feat. Kanye West - Walking On The Moon"

Kanye West Helps To Produce And Feature On The Dream's Newest Song Off Of Love vs. Money, Walking On The Moon

Walking on the Moon is the latest song from The Dream who is set to release his new album in March. For this song he teamed up with Kanye who helped produce the beat along with LOS Da Maestro.

When I heard The Dream and Kanye West were teaming up, I got really excited and thought it would be an awesome song. I was a little disappointed, but it is still a pretty good song. The beat is very reminiscent of 80s pop, which is a lot of fun. I think it is a very radio friendly song that will do really well.

"Dr. Dre feat. T.I. and Nas - Topless"

Another Track From Dr. Dre's Infamous Detox Has Leaked, Topless Features T.I. And Nas

The wait continues for Dr. Dre's next album Detox, but it seems like every now and then a snippet or full song will release. Topless is the latest song to be released. Dr. Dre doesn't appear much in the song, but T.I. has a long verse followed up by Nas' own verse.

The beat is the first thing I really liked about the song. It is very similar to the beats on the Chronic 2001, so I really liked that. T.I. holds it down very well and so does Nas. The only thing I wish could have been better was a little more from Dre. I doubt this will make Detox though since it was leaked.

"India Arie feat. Gramps Morgan - Therapy"

Here Is Another Song, Therapy, From India Arie Featuring Gramps Morgan Off Of Her New Album Testimony: Vol. 2, Love and Politics, Which Drops Today

This song is a lot different from Chocolate High, which I posted up here a little while ago. Arie's new album, Testimony: Vol. 2, Love and Politics was released today. Therapy features Gramps Morgan who is a little known yet very talented reggae artist.

I have to say that I like this song a lot more than Chocolate High, and I really liked Chocolate High. This song is a lot faster and up-beat than Chocolate High, which I feel makes it a little more radio friendly. It is something a little different for Arie, even though I wish Gramps Morgan could have had a bigger role in the song instead of just singing back up.

Featured Artist: Asher Roth

The New Buzz Artist On The Scene Is Asher Roth, A Funky Hip-Hop Artist From Pennsylvania

Asher Roth is the hot new artist on the music scene right now. He isn't really your typical hip-hop artist. For starters not only is he white, but he is also from Morrisville, Pennsylvania. Morrisville does not exactly pump out talented musicians.

Roth started with his mixtape titled The Greenhouse Effect and is all set to release an album called Asleep in the Bread Aisle on April 21. The two songs linked below are the two songs I felt best captured Roth as an artist. I Love College is the first single he released, which is a party jam and ode to the college life. His A Milli freestyle on the other hand is an interesting freestyle where he attacks the music industry for some of its flaws. Definitely check out Asher Roth. I am not sure if he is going to absolutely blow up, but I think he is awesome and deserves a look from everyone.

"India Arie feat. Musiq Soulchild - Chocolate High"

After A Little Time Away, India Arie Is Finally Back With Her New Single Chocolate High Featuring Musiq Soulchild, Off Of Her Upcoming Album Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics

India Arie is a soulful singer that is more of a musical poet than an artist. After taking some time off, Arie is releasing her new album Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics (the picture for this post is the album cover, well minus the Urban Review sign). Her first single off the album features the talent R&B singer Musiq Soulchild.

I am not going to lie, this isn't exactly my type of music. With that being said, I love this Chocolate High. When I first heard it, I became an India Arie fan. As I said, I really like the soulfulness that she brings to a track. Also, she makes an awesome team with Musiq who is awesome by himself. Overall, this is such a laid back, mellow, and cool song that everyone should listen to it and just have some fun. For some reason it feels a little old school to me.

"Justin Timberlake - Bigger Than The World"

Justin Timberlake Records New Song Bigger Than The World, Produced By Timbaland

I have had this song for a few days, but I decided to sit on it for a few days and give it a couple extra listens. Initially, I thought Bigger Than The World was Justin Timberlake's follow up to If I for his next album. However, upon further review I think this is just a song JT wrote that is meant for a female act. He mentions being "just a girl" and saying "boy I can handle the storm", so I don't think it is one of his own songs. But who knows, I could just be hearing it wrong, and it is actually one of his songs.

Regardless, it is an alright song. If it is his, I don't like how high he sings. He never sang this high for entire songs off of his last albums, so I don't get why he is doing it. I really do like the beat though. I don't think it is the best beat him and Timbaland have come up with, but it is still pretty good.

"Busta Rhymes feat. T.I. and Akon - Don't Believe Them"

The Newest Song Off Of Back On My B.S. From Busta Rhymes, Don't Believe Them, Features Akon And T.I.

Following Arab Money, Busta released Don't Believe Them, which is a little more serious of a song. Produced by Cool & Dre, Don't Believe Them also features Akon on the hook and T.I. has his own verse. I apologize for the Aftermath records bit, but there is nothing I can do about it.

I think Don't Believe Them is a lot better song than Arab Money. T.I. probably has the best verse on the entire song, but I mean it is T.I., and he is on top of everything right now, so that isn't surprising. Akon does his usual work on the hook of a song. I think it is a cool song, but it didn't really blow my mind.

"Lionel Richie feat. Akon - Just Go"

Lionel Richie Is Back With A New Single Just Go Featuring Akon, Off Of His Upcoming Album With The Same Title, Just Go

I am a big Lionel Richie fan. I love a lot of his old stuff and think he is one of the best performers ever in the music industry. I was pretty psyched when I heard that he was coming out with a new album due out in February. His newest single Just Go features Akon on the refrain.

The song is very laid back and sort of the epitome of what an R&B/Pop song is. It is very fitting of Lionel Richie's music style as well. However, I am not sure how well it is going to fit in to the culture and music scene of today. I like the song, and I think it will grow on people, however, I am not sure how well it can do. But I definitely think that it is a really good song and will probably be a really good album from Richie.

"Eminem feat. Dr. Dre & 50 Cent - Crack A Bottle"

After A Long Time Away, Eminem Finally Releases His New Single Crack A Bottle Off Relapse, Featuring Dr. Dre And 50 Cent

Eminem has taken a long time off, but he is finally back. Rumors of Eminem coming out with another album surfaced in 2007, and in the past few months he confirmed he was finally working on Relapse, his newest album. He has spent a lot of time working with Dre. Crack A Bottle features and was produced by Dre in addition to featuring 50.

To be honest, I am more excited to hear Dre on the track more than Eminem and 50. It has been a long time I have heard something new from Dr. Dre, so that was a pleasant addition. Overall, it is a really good song, a little dark, which is typical of Eminem. I am surprised that his first single wasn't a party track, but I think this works just as well.

"Chris Brown - Time To Love"

A New Snippet Of Time To Love, A New Song Off Of Chris Brown's Upcoming Album Called Graffiti

Time To Love is a new song off of Chris Brown's upcoming album, Graffiti. Just like his song Forever, Chris teamed up with producer Polow Da Don for the beat of the song. I want to warn you that this is only a snippet of the song. If I can get the entire thing, I will put it up. Also, there is a little internet DJ on it but nothing too big of a deal.

Overall, I think it is a really good song. Just like Forever, I really like when Chris and Polow work together because they can come up with some pretty good stuff. For the beat, I really like the portion during the refrain. I don't think it will be as uptempo of a song as Forever, but definitely not as slow as With You.

Rihanna - Emergency Room

Even Though Her Album Isn't Set To Be Released Until 2009, Rihanna Debuts Her New Song Called Emergency Room

There is a lot of confusion over this song. Some people say that it isn't Rihanna singing, while others say it is. Also, some people say the guy on it is Akon, when others say it is Ray L. However, I am very convinced that it is Rihanna and very convinced that it is not Akon and maybe Ray L. Either way Emergency Room seems to be the first single off of Rihanna's next album.

I don't get the feeling that this is the finished track, and I think that there are some things that will probably still get worked out before its actual release. But it is definitely a good place to start for the song and then to definitely start for the album. I really like the beat of it and the lyrics are pretty solid, even though nothing exactly to write home about.

"Justin Timberlake feat. T.I. - If I"

After The Success Of My Love, Justin Timberlake Teams Up With T.I. To Make J.T.'s New Single, If I

After how good My Love, I get excited and expect a lot from a Justin Timberlake and T.I. combo. With how well T.I. is doing these days, it is not a surprise that this song get puts out now. Also, it is not a big surprise that it is produce by Timbaland.

If I isn't as good as I thought it would be, but it isn't bad at all. I like the beat, and I think it is the type of the song that will get a lot of radio play and success simply because it is a J.T.-T.I. combo. However, I don't really like how Justin sings so high for the entire song. T.I. does a good job and has some good and interesting lyrics. I really like the song though, and it will probably grow on me a lot.

"Lil' Wayne - Hot Revolver"

Even Though It Is Filled With Internet DJ Shout Outs, The New Lil' Wayne Track Hot Revolver Is A Fusion Of Musical Styles And One Of Wayne's Most Creative Songs Yet

I almost didn't put this up here because of how annoying the internet DJ is at the beginning of the song, but I listened to the song over and over again, and it has slowly grown on me. The first time I listened to it I couldn't put up with the DJ, so I didn't listen to it all the way through. But trust me, just give it one time all the way through and you will be impressed.

Lil' Wayne really tapped into his creative genius on Hot Revolver. I feel that people always try to knock Weezy for not being talented musically, however, in this song he blends so many types of genres into one it is interesting and impressive. The mix of rock in it is what really did it for me and made me really dig this song. I think Lil' Wayne could have possibly made a fan favorite with this song, even though it had to have the annoying internet DJ on it at the beginning.
