I like this song a lot more now then when i first listened to it. Jazmine is mega talented with a huge voice and range. She could blow the bones out of cough*cassie*cough. I hope she can see real success because artists like her hardly ever do as well as they should because record companies fail on the marketing & PR and not giving them the right songs. Anywhoo I love her already.

Here Is The Official Album Cover For Jazmine Sullivan's Début Album - Fearless.


For those who don't know who Jazmine Sullivan is, well I haven't got time to explain, just check out our Introducing feature on her a few weeks back, click here to read it. I can't say that I have been really excited about this release, but since I heard her Missy Elliott backed single - Need U Bad, I have had it on constant rotation.

She may sound like Lauryn Hill, but will her album reflect the same quality as her voice? I guess only time will tell. For now we can only stop & stare at her album cover, which is a little middle of the road, but gets an Urban Review thumbs up!

Following On From Our Introduction To Jazmine Sullivan, Here Is The Official Video For Need U Bad.

The track features Missy Elliott, more as a producer than a rapper, but I suppose it adds credibility & gets the track noticed. Anyway, the track is so, so strong, this girl vocal style is what sets her apart from the pack, she doesn't need to be Whitney Houston to put her voice to use.

I am really liking the video as well, I think it adds well to that slightly 'Old School' vibe that the track already has. It obviously has broken the bank, but it's not particularly necessary when the song speaks for itself, definitely one of my current favourites, this girl is going to go far.

Jazmine Sullivan Is The Feature Of The Next Instalment Of Introducing, Urban Review's Attempt To Get Some New Talent Noticed.


While this track is a little old, I expected it to be a lot bigger than it actually was, so I thought I would bring it to the attention of your critical ears.

Need U Bad is the first single to be lifted from Jazmine's début album - Fearless, it was produced by & features Missy Elliott, it shows off something that is rare in this day & age, soul. I doubt I am the first to say this, nor will I be the last, Sullivan has that distinctive singing style of the legendary Lauryn Hill.

The fact hat this lady has been singing since the age of 5 fills me with confidence that she really sings from the heart, rather than for the huge amount of money that is sure to come her way. I wish there were more artist out there that can produce soulful music like this, support it!
