"Lady Gaga - Poker Face" (Live On Comcast)

Continuing The Theme Of Lady Gaga Themed Posts, & In Response To A Comment I Received About The Last Post. Here Is Lady Gaga Performing An "Interesting" version Of Her Current Smash Hit - Poker Face.

Lady Gaga - Poker Face (Live Piano)

This is one of the funniest things I have seen/heard in a long time, at first, I honestly thought it was a joke, but she really does believe herself to be a musical genius! For real, has she locked Gwen Stefani in a room somewhere & tried to take her place.

I hate to admit that I cannot get the real version of this song out of my head, but still, maybe Gaga should head off & be a fashion designer, because she knows how to look hot. But, I for one, can't see her hedonistic crap lasting much longer than one album... "I'm Bluffin' With My Muffin" - Please!

Randomly - Props to Scott Mills On Radio 1 for finding this gem.

"Britney Spears - Womanizer" (X-Factor Performance)

Simon Cowell's Influence Was Shown In Full Last Night As He Bagged The Comeback Performance Of The Century. Pop Princess Britney Spears Nailed Her Current Single - Womanizer, Live On The X-Factor.

While I'm not exactly a fan of Britney, I feel her initials sum up her music best... I was really interested to see if this performance would be car crash TV or a return to form, I'm glad it was the latter, I love to see the underdog succeed.

Despite the track being absolute crap & Britney's vocals being shakey at best, the performance as a whole was solid. The dancers were on-point, the whole circus theme totally worked & Miss Spears showed why she is a superstar, she made it look effortless. Let's hope her recent breakdown inspires some actual creative material, then she will get my stamp of approval.

Mary J. Blige - Live In London

I Know There Are A Few Of You Out There That Check My Blog Everyday, & You May Have Noticed The Lack Of Posts Yesterday.

This was because I was attending the "Church of Mary J. Blige", live at The 02 Arena in London. Mary is on the European leg of her 'Heart Of The City Tour', unfortunately she has lost her performing partner - Jay Z, who joined her on tour in the US.

MJB was on top form last night, performing a medley of hits from her prolific career, she was beyond belief with her vocals & really seemed to be in a good place, she met & exceeded my every expectation in an amazing show.

My definition of a great vocalist is when they can perform a CD quality song live, however, Mary managed to sound better than CD quality, every pitch was perfect & every note she hit brought a tingle to the spine. A lot of singers can produce smooth harmonies with their voice, but Mary can literally portray emotions with hers, the rawness of her performance during 'No More Drama' blew me away.

Long Live The Queen!

"Mariah Carey - That Chick" (Live)

Everyone's Favourite Diva - Mariah Carey - Performed A Brand New Track At The MTV Premier Party For The Hills Season 3.

First impressions of the That Chick are not doing it for me, the lyrics seem pretty standard & even Mariah's vocals weren't up to much (although still better than most other artists out there). Still, it was only my first listen, so I won't pass judgement on it just yet.

I am amazed that Mariah's album tracks are not leaking all over the net, Island/Universal have really done their thing & kept the record under wraps. Still, I wish something new would surface, I am really hyped about the whole project.

"Mariah Carey ft. T-Pain - Migrate" (Live On Saturday Night Live)

The World's Favourite Diva - Mariah Carey - Was The Feature Of Last Weeks Edition Of Saturday Night Live.

This served as the perfect opportunity to show off her possible second single from her new album, the club jam - Migrate. Once rumoured to be the first choice début single, the track is a collaboration with serial hit maker - T-Pain.

Migrate sounds really solid, it's up-tempo beat & catchy lyrics are complimented well with the token rap from T-Pain. My only criticism is the fact that once again, Mariah didn't get the opportunity to show off her unique vocal range, I expect there will be plenty of time for that with her album tracks.

The performance itself was great, Mariah looks like a pure bred diva with her figure looking sexier than ever. Plus, I love the hat that T-Pain was rocking, he is the king of cool.

Alicia Keys - Live In London

Last Night I Was Lucky Enough To Attend A Sold Out, One Night Show Live In London From The Mad Talented Alicia Keys.

After multiple cancellations earlier in the week, due to a bout of Laryngitis, it was in doubt whether the event would go ahead, but it did & Alicia showed almost no signs or effects from being ill. She was vocally on form, had a much better stage presence than I expected & was accompanied by some vocally talented backing singers.

With a very expensive drink in my hand, & the soulful vocals of Alicia being pounded from the speakers, the evening went down without a hitch. She started the show amongst huge cheers with a shortened versions of ; Ghetto Story, Waiting For Your Love, Where Do We Go From Here & You Don't Know My Name.

She continued with the majority of album tracks from her current album; As I Am, including a very crowd pleasing rendition of Superwoman, which is an obvious fan favourite. Then my favourite track from her current album; Wreckless love, which had some real vocal effort put into it. Next she used some previous material including; My Boo, Karma & A Woman's Worth.

Towards the end of the show she performed the now classic track Fallin', with a short burst of the musical inspiration for the song, James Browns' - It's A Man's Man's Man's World. She then proceeded to close the show with her recent smash hit; No One, this was the highlight of the evening, with a showstopping performance which had every one on their feet, joining in with the 'Oh Oh Oh' towards the end of the track.

The evening went far to quickly & I was totally amazed by Alicia's CD quality vocals & solid stage presence, which I really wasn't expecting. Alicia is a real professional, an outright entertainer & a positive talent on a some-what undertalented musical world, she remains one of my favourite R&B singers & I will definitely being checking her out next time she comes to the UK.

Some ranom stuff from the concert included the fact that because of the smoking ban in the UK, everyone had to put their mobile phones in the air instead of lighters. Also, the opening introduction video had Alicia in a church & a preacher warning her about the outside world, he had this one line that told her about those 'Lions, Tigers & Snoop Doggs'. Lol

Kanye West - Grammy Awards 2008

My Number #1 Highlight From This Years Grammy Awards, Was Definitely This Outstanding Performance From The Great Show-Man; Mr Kanye West.

Kanye performed his recent smash hit - Stronger - as well as a special rendition of - Hey Mama - which was obviously dedicated to his recently deceased mother; Doctor Donda West. It is so good to see that Kanye remained true to the sample he used in Stronger, sticking to the futuristic theme of Daft Punks original.

West was totally on form with this one, he looked so fly with those glasses & filled his performance with a huge amount of energy. If you missed the Grammy show, you need to see this, summed up in one word - P-H-E-N-O-M-E-N-A-L.

Amy Winehouse - Grammy Awards 2008

A Top moment Of This Years Grammy Awards Was Undoubtedly The 'Comeback' Performance From Amy Winehouse.

After he well publicised trip into rehab, plus the fact that her Visa arrived too late for her to perform on location. It was fantastic to see Amy perform for the awards, she definitely represented for us in the UK. She was on fire & was really energetic, hopefully through excitement rather than drugs. lol.

Amy performed two of her recent hits - I'm No Good & the relevantly titled Rehab - both renditions were great, Winehouse was on top of her vocals for the most part & really gave off a good vibe. She seemed genuinely excited at receiving her 5 Grammy Awards! I really hope this is the turning point in her life & that she will soon be on track for another great album.

"Mary J. Blige - No More Drama" (Live On 1Xtra)

Finishing The Exclusive Live Performances For The BBC's 1Xtra Radio Station; Mary J Blige Performs The Exquisite No More Drama.

They definitely saved the best to last with this one, if you are a fan of Mary you have to see this performance. Mary pours her heart out while she sings the meaningful lyrics, almost breaking into tears by the end.

When she sings it live, this is my favourite Mary track, & I would think it means the most to her as it signifies her strength & determination to battle drug addiction. If this lady wasn't a singer, I'm sure she would be a preacher, she has an unbelievable passion for life.

"Mary J. Blige - Come To Me (Peace)" (Live On 1Xtra)

Continuing The Week Of Performances Exclusively Live For The BBC's 1Xtra Radio Station, Here Is Mary. J Blige with A Stunning Rendition Of A New Album Track Called; Come To Me.

Frankly I wasn't impressed by the beginning of the performance, Mary seemed a little lifeless, like she was reading the lyrics from a sheet. But then she exploded with emotion & bought the track to life, this lady can give you goosebumps with a single note.

I'm feeling Mary more than ever, she is a songwriting machine, can hold her own against the best vocalists & can tell a story like no other. She is a living legend.

"Mary J. Blige - Just Fine" (Live On 1Xtra)

All This Week, The Queen Of Hip-Hop Soul; Mary J. Blige, Will Be Performing Live Tracks From Her New Album; Growing Pains. Exclusively On The UK's 1Xtra Radio Station.

I'm locked to this station all day long, it's really the only decent urban radio station in the UK. I heard the performance & interview this morning & thought it was great, so I will be following it all week & showing you the highlights.

Here is her performance of her latest joint; Just Fine. The performance was a Mary standard, high quality vocals & piles of energy. This woman only gets better with time, she looks effortlessly glamorous & sounds fantastic.

On a side note, while listening to the radio today, I was massively surprised to hear Sam of Thatgrapejuice.net reviewing music with other DJ's on 1Xtra. That a real good look so I thought I'd mention it.
